However please pop them onto a coaster or a saucer if you don't have an appropriate candle holder. The bottom can sometimes get quite warm and the coaster or saucer would offer some protection to the surface you have placed it on. Under no circumstances stand the minilight on the lid which you have removed from the top of the candle. The bottom of the flameproof acrylic holder has vents in it for a reason, these should not be blocked. Blocking these can cause the flameproof acrylic to overheat and possibly melt.
